We had 2 guests for a meal and wanted to use both foldable parts of the table. No way!  The distance between chart table and the cabin table is only 10 cm Angry.  The only way is:

a) send your guests into the front cabin
b) fold the table up
c) place guest(s) on port bank
d) lay the tableware and glasses

e) hope that nobody receives a call from mother nature during dinnerWink

I agree this is inconvenient.  But I get around this problem on the port side by stepping high enough that my ankle fits through the 10cm.  The starboard side has the opposite problem; when the table is folded down, it requires a similarly high step to clear edge of the seat facing aft.

doesn't get much better on the 385.  We have decided we need seat covers because we just step on the seats to get past the end of the table.

After having lived for 3 seasons with the flawed table design I finally found a solution. Unfortunately you can not buy the edge laminate from Hanse, so any corrections to the table size were out. I have now retained the hinges to the center section and moved the port table half 8 cm towards the front cabin:
This gives me now a ~20 cm to slide in between the nav table and the cabin table :)
