Upon reaching our destination, the wonderful bay Napoleonviken, we were getting snow that hurt my eyes when it blow into my face. The young one joined us in the cockpit after having spent some time in the warmth of her cabin, dressed in her sailing jacket - and pyjama trousers! I will have to talk to her about the importance of also using the very expensive sailing trousers that I bought with the jacket when sailing in snow conditions.

Tying up to our favourite rock at the innermost part of the bay was a challenge in the dark and the snow but it went well and it felt great to enjoy the dinner while the heater was keeping us warm and dry.

Compared to last year, the weather is somewhat harsher.

Johan

Hi Johan

You are the King of "after season sailing" as alwaysSmile

I like this kind of ... well at least, late season sailing myself. I had a fantastic tour a week ago when we experienced a very nice "Indian Summer" here in Denmark. So, we took a last trip to Helsingborg and from there to Gilleleje (Zealand) before going back to Copenhagen via Elsinore.

We were hoping that the indian summer would extend into this week but sadly the cold, wet and windy weather introduced itself.

So we spent two nights in Napoleonviken (Bay of Napoleon) at Ägnö, spent one day walking up the hill and then decided to sail back home before the next gale would hit us. We had a very nice sail and seeing how the weather developed the next few days I can say that this was a wise decision. (This is written sitting on my coach).

A picture from the top of the hill. I have posted pictures of the same view many times before in the same thread, always with Emilia as the only boat. Next time I will post a picture from the high season when there will be hundreds of boats there.
