My 415, a 2017 version has two A/C units. However my boat has only one 30 amp shore power cord. I have been told this configuration is wrong according to ABYC standards and is not safe. I was told if a problem occurred that insurance would not cover it. Does anyone have this configuration?

Yes and no.
Aircon units are 12k and 8k And if you start them synchronously ther starting current will be 22A and 15A approximately. So it is not adequate. However, their continous current are 6 and 4.5A. So if you start one and wait for some time then start the second there should be no problem. Edited by cgabay - 23 February 2018 at 18:44 |

You can also add a sofstarter to 12k unit. It will reduce starting current by 40percent at least. This will carry you to below 30A without limitation of starting them together.
