This is our new Brunton 3 blade variable autoprop fitted to a 30hp Yanmar.

"Discovery" went back into the drink a month ago, and after 15 hours of motoring and sailing so far, all I can say about the prop is that it's all good, better than expected.
PRO's
1. Greater speed with less revs.

2. Engine vibration and engine noise on full revs has            dramatically reduced to a peaceful purr.

3. Motoring is much more comfortable and stable in moderate sea conditions.

4. Prop walk has virtually disapeared, reversing is much more responsive.

5. No drag noticed while sailing.

CONS

None as yet, maybe more maintenance in the future.

Hi Henrik

We purchased the prop from Brunton Propellers at the London boatshow in feb this year, the guys we spoke to were very confident about this propeller, and now I know why! Brunton are based in the UK but will ship anywhere. I really do recommend this prop, I don't work for them! LOL!

Thanks for the answer.
What I can see is this not a folding prop.
Is there much resistance in the water under sail.

We didn't notice any resistance, we were getting our normal 6.2 knts in a southwesterly beam reaching with 17knt wind, it's not what u'd call a folding prop, but the auto variable pitch blades do the same job.

All you need to tell them is make, model, type of drive (saildrive probably), size of engine. we do have the 30hp yanmar on our 320 so they recomended the 3 blade.
