Hi all! I have just purchased a 445 and am working through some minor problems the most perplexing being that the 4 grub screws on the torque tube of the furler have had the nipples sheared off and are now embedded in the "composite" material.
Any body else had similar experience and does anyone know how this can happen as there should not be any force on this part of the furler other than rotational. The sail is fixed below this assebly. Thank you

Look at this recent thread and you will see others have had a similar experience on jib furlers.
http://www.myhanse.com/facnor-furler-maintenance_topic11122.html#92486 You mention a composite material and it could be that people have forgotten where carbon is in the galvanic series and they have not used something like Duralac to prevent galvanic corrosion.
