We have made the first season with our new Hanse 400 (built 2009) and are very satisfied with the boat in all aspects. We have the twin steering  version which makes it really easy to find always a very good position to control the sails & the boat.

I am interested if any other H-400 owner  with this steering system - or someone from the manufacturer - has the experience/manual for how to adjust the chain tension/play, and what is the right setting/measurement.

All the best,

Hanse 400 Sarasvati

In the top of the rudder you will find a quadrant with 2 rods that link to each chain that is controled by the steering wheel. You undo the nuts and tight (but not too much...) them. Make sure to tight well the counter nut and even better: to apply Locktight...

Hy, I have the new hanse 400 with twin wheel and I had the same problem; I found all the answers in the jefa web site : jefa.com and you go in steering, download and the folder is Hanse 405. By, Enrico.
