Hi,

This is my first post on this forum. Recently I have browsed it a lot and I think it's excellentClap.

I am looking for a used 320, without hull windows.

In this respect I have several questions:
1. Is there room is the side cockpit lockers for the storage of a liferaft in a valise? On the 350 forum I saw a phote of a liferaft in a side locker of a 350.
2. What are the dimensions of the opening, where some boats have a folding swimming platform. I would like to have such platform, but most 320's do not have it.
3. Is it possible to install another drive than the rather expensive DD1 drive for the autopilot. I don't want to install a so-called wheelpilot, since I think such ap is not strong enough for the job.

Looking forward to reading your replies.

Leo

You can also take the Simrad SD10 drive which is a lot cheaper.

Have you considered the new 315?

Hi Leo,

We have a 2012 Hanse 325 and find the cockpit locker ample for our needs.  We have a 6 man valise liferaft as well as our tender and 'oil' box where we keep spare oil, engine bits etc in the locker.

We have fitted a permanent boarding ladder to the port side of the bathing platform.  We have a Vetus telescopic boarding ladder as per this link http://www.vetus.com/ladder-telescopic-9476.html

Our auto helm came factory fitted so, sorry but can't help there.

Paul

No, I think double steering wheels on such a small boat is ridiculous.
BTW, thanks for the reply.

Not so ridiculous !!!   Note the basic version:  single tiller steering.
Have a good Day.

Do you have a cockpit track on a 320
On my 31 i have a 4 man cannister immediately under the mainsheet track. I work on the principle that if i have to step over the track it is not hard to step over the raft at the same time & I hardly notice it. It should be easier to deploy from there.
It is really quite heavy & I cannot imagine getting it out of a locker on my own. Especially opening a large open locker & getting water in even faster, or the lid smashing me on the head ( which may well be a blessing in disguise in the circumstances).
I often rest my cups on it when in harbour

We have a 320 with bathing platform and keep a 4 man seago life raft under the bathing platform. I don't think it will fit in the rear lockers. You do not say whether you are looking for deep or shallow keel version

I have a 4 man seago liferaft stored in the port side locker.  It 'just' fits. Would not like to say if others will be OK so I would need to try this before buying one.

Next time I am on the boat I'll take a picture for you and measure the opening.
