What is the actual warranty like on a new boat and who is responsible for making good on it? Are warranty cot the dealers responsibility or does the manufacturer pay for it? I have been having some teething problems with my new 415. The latest and most catastrophic was a failure of my spinnaker halyard in just 15 knots of wind. It left my $4k asymmetric sail in tatters . The eye slice in the halyard failed. I assume that I will have to eat the sail repair costs but will I get the halyard replaced at no cost?

Tom, warranty clauses are in the sales contract between you and your dealer. I assume that this is governed by US law.
Unfortunately we Europeans do not have any experiences, as we consider it a frivulous legal System. Maybe some other US formumites will be in a Position to offer some advice. |
