We have Hase 400e 2007. On top cover of main door we noticed some problems with one of two wooden laths, that gets unscrewed. The result is the main door can be only half opened. To fix this problem, we need to remove top cover which is glued very strong with a lot of sikaflex. (see pics) Is there any way to do this without destroying the top cover? In my opinion the only way to do it is to cut off the top cover and replace it with new one from Hanse.

Best Regards,
Bostjan

Bostjan,

Your door might be coming up against the screws that keep your liferaft on the top cover.  Try to take them off.

The same happened to us , one off the wood pieces came off and jammed the hatch from closing.
We also hade to remove the cover.
It was fastened with two litle srews and a lot off sikaflex.
We tried to lift the cover on the side from the cockpit and from there we forced it a little bit more every time and we could then cut the sika piece by piece and finaly it came loose.
We mounted it back with to new screws at the side end off the cover ( I will post a pictere off that later.
We all did it in the light off a flaslight because it all hapened at 23.00 ours in the dark wenn the hatch jammed!
greetings Marcel and Succes!

Thanks for info. We'll try with more hands and more force. I'll be very grateful for photos of your solution.

Definitely that is not the problem.
We can see unscrewed wooden part which is set parallel to the door cover
(one screw is still holding that part)..

Bostjan,

If the screws are not the problem, then try to take out the door towards stern direction.  I did that in the past on my boat (also Hanse 400) as the doorstop is quite weakly attached.

What have you done to prevent door cover to fall down without this wooden stoppers?

Same thing happend to our 2007 370e.
One of the first days of sailing from Greifswald.
Use a hot air gun to make the sika softer.

Very early on the wood piece on the rear of the hatch came off and the hatch would slide right out into the cockpit. To stop this from happening we put a screw on each side (each screw has a nylon washer on it) of the channel to stop the hatch from coming out. The screw sticks out about 1-2 cm to provide the stop. All of these wood pieces on the hatch are weak and poorly attached. They're falling off, breaking,....

Good luck

To my boat (311 / nor.80) happened the same. Luckily Hanse did not invent Sikaflex to fix the hatch. Not a very smart idea to use. I made a new piece of hard wood (?) and fixed it on the plexiglass top and only fixed the screws from the hatch top with sikaflex.

Like suggested in an earlier post, a hot air gun can help to remove the sikaflex. Don't burn the hatch
