This is the worst scenario, but according to dmi.dkthere is more fog in january, february and march.

Myself is not an experienced sailor, but I am an experienced motorboater. My brother is going with me, and he is a very experienced sailor.

We still have about 10 hours daylight......

I agree with Peter.
We first sailed 2 days around Workum (where our boat was delivered). We left it there during a week and the dealer fixed some minor things. We were lucky that we did not have any big issues but if, for example, your instruments all fail due to a software problem (wich we had a few months after delivery), I would not like to be in foggy circumstances between Greifswald and Denmark...
Anyway... congratulations that you made the step from motoryachting to sailing ! Now you are going to experience the real stuff !

I have been sailing a 20 foot Sunwind for about 2 years and I enjoy the sailing more and more!
Now it seems like the weatherforecast is going my way....
S/W Wind around 10 m/s and about 10 degrees celsius

Would you recommend Øresund or Storebælt?

I am sorry, I can not give you any advice on that as I do not know the area at all.

Hi,

It depents maybe where you are going to in Norway. Oslo or the westcoast. If you are going to Oslo I think Øresund and than the Swedish westcoast, Koster ,hvaler is maybe the fastest route but on some legs you haven`t much shelter from the western winds.. Are you going to the West coast Store bælt(Omø, Samsø,Grenå, Sæby, Skagen) on the Danish eastcoast is better and give you more shelter from winds from the west. And of course with western winds it is nice to sail from Skagen to Oslo.

Good luck,

Erno
