Sailing on a lake, we added a new made-to-measure stainless steel holding tank of 110L or 24 Gallons on our Hanse 400, 2010. We kept the symbolic plastic one in place and changed to an electric toilet with macerator. We located the new tank in the port aft cabinet.  The new tank can only be emptied by pump-out using the existing outlet with new vent. We installed a Y valve in the bilge giving us the possibility to direct the flow to the existing tank and direct connection if we go at sea. To respect the law, the discharge hose and seacock valves are disconnected and plugged. It's a great improvement from a 35L reservoir!

New S.S. tank covered by Line-X epoxy

Hoses are rerouted to the toilet cabinet

The SS reservoir is coated with Line-X epoxy used in the trucking industry and covered by a sound pad. The vent and discharge hose are rerouted over the existing plastic tank without affecting the cabin appearance.
Bottom access

We perforated a 1 inch hose inlet and a 1''1/2 NPT discharge plug.

Our 3rd cabin guests are loosing the hanging locker but are less constipated for a more enjoyable sailing experience.

Very nice.

The small holding tank is the biggest drawback of my 370e.

BUT!! will it stay there? 100 kilos is quite heavy.

Sea-U is a 370e #532 located SW Norway

I installed the Arrangement same on a 345 with a stainless steel tank. The 2 cabin Version had an empty space in the shower stall behind a removable wall cover.(see thread inthe 345 section ).
The pastic reservoir of 32 ltr is a joke when you sail on a lake.
Hanse should really think offering a bigger one as there is enough empty space behind the loo. It could be rotomolded to fill the available space and installed before the join deck and hull. My guess that it could be 80 - 100 ltrs.

Did you have the measurement of this tank?

I first created a full scale model with a wooden frame and a sheet of veneer and brought the model to a machine shop This way I could test the fitting clearance and make the tank tight enough to stay in place tack after tack.

Works like a charm and made a real change in our lives! We will eventually install an electronic gauge. Your longest journey was 4 days with a crew of 4.

Is the pipes in/out welded or is it plastic pipe with flanges?

As you can see, I used a plastic elbow, reinforced hose and two s.s. bands. A female s.s. adapter was welded in the tank. The s.s.tank is covered by a black epoxy paint and I added a sound insulation pad on the front.  I hope this helps.
