Anyone got experience they can pass on of what's between the shower drain and the pump on a 2006 vintage 400? The water is draining slowly, Flojet pump runs, filter is clean and drain unblocker isn't helping. I can get a drain clearing spring to feed a long way from the drain towards the pump but it doesn't appear at the pump. Is there a non-return valve hidden somewhere in the pipe routing? It's a really tough spot to access and get a decent view short of breaking out an inspection camera.

Thanks

Mark

Could be the pump is the problem.
The pump motor will rum ; but the pump mechanism is bits of rubber and plastic, which die.
4 screws takes the pump off the bulkhead, and the hoses are quick release. Then 4 screws take the top of the pump and there you may find the problem.

Thanks Gents. I'll focus on the pump then and strip it down.

Removing the hose at the pump will allow you to check and see if there seems to be something blocking it - blowing air through it  or attaching a longer length of hose to reach a drain and then passing water through it...

Just to close off this thread, I stripped down the (original?) Flojet Pump. Diaphragms etc were almost completely useless. I suspect the pump had been running on just one of the 4 for some time.

New Flojets of this design seem to be superseded. There are some about at approx £120. A service kit is available but I found I could get a larger Whale Gulper 220 pump into the same spot and that was about £75 locally after some hunting. Service kit is about half that but the new pump has the advantage of not needing a filter. It did require a longer 19mm extract hose to achieve the right pipe angle.

Result is a much stronger pump action, and no messy filter to clean every week when on board. Now waiting to see how long the Gulper's valves survive :-)
