This season I updated all the b&g software to latest versions. This included zeus2, Triton display and autopilot control, VHF etc.
I also added three new nmea devices to the system: engine monitor, data recorder and fusion stereo. I have started to get the Zeus mfd freezing randomly. The Tritons and autopilot still function normally when this happens. It appears to need the power supply at the switchboard turned off to reset it. This has happened enough times to be worrying. I have also noticed the touch screen is getting very hot, something I did not notice previously. Has anyone experienced similar or have any advice? |

Maybe you are still in the three year warranty?

I upgraded to Zeus2 9inch at the beginning of 2016 and have not had any problems (the rest of the system is older IS-12). I upgraded to the latest software a couple of months ago as well with no problems.
A question for you though, your Fusion entertainment system is which model? I have the UD650 and am having difficulty controlling it from the Zeus. SiriusXM has little functionality and iPhone/iPod play and pause functions don't work...

I am still having this problem and have been advised by Inspiration Marine that it might be down to the VHF. For the last couple of days we have kept the radio off and have not had any lockups. I am wondering if the network gets overloaded by AIS messages?
My Fusion is RA70N and have no issues with this, although rather disappointed by the control software and the limited ability to select what music I want from a USB source. No artist/album filters and no control over the order that tracks play from a folder. I don't use any Apple products so can't comment on integration with those. |

A friend had the same problems with his Zeus2.
It freezed after starting the unit and got hot. It was changed under warranty for a new one by B&G. It seems to be a known problem..... |

I contacted Inspiration Marine and the advice was to delete all the tracks that I had recorded and kept since purchasing the boat. This would have been approximately 4,000Nm of sailing.
The Files menu showed I was using about 20Mb out of the 30Mb available and I thought that this would have been a sufficient ratio of free space. I had noticed a significant lag when trying to start a new track after switching the MFD on - saying that the database was not ready. I am pleased to report that having exported the old tracks and deleted them I have had no further issues. I will now archive these more frequently.
