The watermaker project is complete and has been working like a dream for a few weeks now.  The 1hp high pressure pump running on 220VAC will run on the invertor,  but it struggles to start and it might take a few attempts to start it.  Once running, it purrs like a kitten.  It also drains the house battery bank very quickly so it really isn't idea to run the system on the batteries.     I was hoping it would, but I'm not disappointed that it doesn't as I thought it was a lot to expect before starting the project.

Since we need to do laundry every 3-4 days....we simply start the generator and run the watermaker for a few hours while doing laundry.

It will produce about 40 gallons per hour.  I don't think I would do anything different if I were to do it over.  I only have about 400watts of solar and the standard AGM house battery bank.  For our cruising lifestyle, I'm not interested in investing more for Li-Ion batteries, chargers, solar, alternators...etc.   A friend did this and by the time he was finished, I think the total cost was north of $15,000.

I wish to extend a sincere "Thank you"  for the responses and advice!!
