And for me in Medway. We launched yesterday and stayed overnight. It was freezing with ice over the decks this morning, sparkling in the sunshine. Nice to be back on the water.

We had over 15 degrees for two weeks ago, and today it snowing for some hours.
Tomorrow we will have warmer weather again.

It is interesting to see how high she floats without the rig
Are the tanks full & all the normal cruising gear below or is Amani empty?

Hi samuel

Yes, I know that "Amani" floats quite high. I am convinced she is close to the minimum construction weightBig smile (The Hanses are hand laid laminate, but the variations are probably small anyway). The fact that she floats high could also be a good sign that the balsa is still completely dry and that no water ingress has occurred.

In fact she was not at all empty when I shot the picture. The fuel tank is full and there is about 30 liters of water/propylene glycol mixture in the water tank. All cusions + fenders and a few clothings etc. are also there. Extra ropes and the inflatable dinghy will follow laterWink

Aw, c'mon guys, this ain't fair!

The spring is late and our harbor bay is still frozen, we received some snow today and we'll get -5 C tonight (Gulf of Finland).

I have the launch scheduled on 28th (in 3 weeks time). I sure hope it'll warm up before that for antifouling and waxing and stuff.

She will be winterized at the end of September so we get full 5 months sailing season, 7 months at land every winter ... ridiculous ...

Phrrrrrr - that is cold, Sailingjack!

You have my deepest sympathies. On the other hand the (albeit) short Summer season is usually much more sunny than the ones we have here in Denmark, if I am not mistaken...... and what great waters you have to sail around inBig smile

Cheer up, wipe your eyesLOL and good luckwith the new season!
