Hi

Has anyone in  Northern/Europe got their boat in the water yet?

We still have 6 degrees C minus, in the morning.

Will there ever be a season for 2013?

I fear that global warming has done something to the Gulf-stream, which normally makes Northern Europe a pleasant arena to sail in.

It's economic crysis, there's no summer or spring for that matter in sight.
Help!Confused

Pearl - Is there still ice around Your boat?

Nice going Peter-Blake. You are a true sailor.

Been in all winter but I think the south of the UK (generally) has a more temperate climate that our continental neighbours.

Had a great sail New Years Day with three other boats from the Port Solent Yacht Club to Bembridge on the Isle of Wight.

Over Easter we joined a Bavaria Owners Association rally to Yarmouth and Cowes on the IOW. Good sailing in E 4/5 but b - - - - y cold. So glad I'd finished installing the heating and it all worked OK.

BTW I'm still an active BOA member as I used to have a Bavaria 38 Ocean and have some good mates who are members. High Time is the second Hanse that actively attends BOA rallies. The other is Oxygen, a 400 that first got me interested in Hanse yachts. They were also out with us over Easter.

Mine goes in on Friday. We had a blizzard today in SE England and freezing temperatures. Looks like much the same for Friday, so the sooner I put her on her mooring and get back to the bar, the better

H8jr, the ice melted 3 - 4 days agoSmile.

There have been ICE up to apr. 10 cm in the harbour, but only one time with apr. 25 m/s so no problems.

Now it's just getting the sails back from the sailmaker and get out.

I plan only to wash the boat now and save the polish job to may or june when the temperature is better.

Its snowing here by the river Blackwater & it is 4th April , a quarter of the year gone
My boat is sitting on the hard looking terribly forlorn
I still have loads of cleaning & polishing to do
But while the weather is like this the boat can stop where it is!!

Just sailed BluenoteII up from Caenarfon  to our mooring in Holyhead wind Easterly 5 gusting 6, sea state slight, 6-7 knots all the way. Bit chilly but a great start to the season.
