Selene has 5 leads taking 240 volts power, all neatly labelled, from behind the trip on the panel above the chart table which disappear together into one of those black hoses. Two were already connected ("boiler" and "charger"). The others - labelled "kitchen", "bathroom" etc - disappear from view. I want to fit some 240 volt outlets so I need to find the other ends of these cables.
Anyone know where they go and where to look? I think I have now found the "kitchen" one, its end lying in a little water in the bilge in the middle of the boat just aft of the keel. The "bathroom" (heads) one is clearly lying in a similar situation because I had to disconnect it behind the panel after sailing one day when the shore power kept tripping out on the dock until by trial and error I found and disconnected the problem lead behind the panel. But where is its other end and how do I get to it? All suggestions very welcome! |

Guess the lack of reply means nobody knows! Or did you all buy your boats with a complete set of mains outlets factory installed in all the various locations?

Our 370 (2008) has four 230 outlets, so I've never had the need to ad another outlet. Regards, Zeester |

My 2008 (#465) has three AC outlets: one in the galley, one in the head and one under the chart table next to the AC breaker panel. I assume that is the same for you; so you must have one additional outlet--where?

Hi all,
No, the whole point is I do not have any outlets yet - UK sockets being different from European ones (all part of being an island I suppose, "God save our Queen" and all that rubbish) I am fixing the outlets myself. So far Selene just has the water heater and the charger connected and one European style mains outlet actually on the circuit breaker panel on the main electrical panel above the chart table. Fixing extra outlets is no sweat (I am an experimental physicist) in principle - once I have found the leads to go to them. That is the problem - the extra leads labelled "kitchen", "bathroom" etc dive into a rubber hose behind the switch panel and other than the one I have found dangling in the bilge amidships, are never to be seen again. Hanse's technique of building the "furniture" on top of the nearby floor boards so you cannot get those up doesn't help! David |

Ah, yes, the 4th one is for the hot water heater---out of sight, out of mind. Thanks for helping me remember.
