I am considering replacing my propeller on Hanse 301. Volvo sd120s saildrive and looking for recommendations. Any advice would be welcome.

I’d say that’s a good investment. I originally tried racing with a fixed prop, and then after a couple of months I bought and fitted a Gori prop which was a transformation. No longer did I have the annoying effect of the prop trying to turn the gearbox ( I tried to measure the effect of letting it freewheel or lock the engine in gear - no real difference) but the main change was an extra knot round the cans. It does need cleaning at least once a season otherwise it ends up half open/closed, but otherwise no problems. It’s not cheap but worth it. I’ll try and get the details and pass those on.

My Gori prop was supplied by lake engineering of Poole, Dorset. It is a 14x9.5 Gori LH S/D 2BL prop and was recommended for a Volvo MD2010 engine. Hope that helps. Pete
