Looks like the typical problem with Myhanse.com links. Forum adds http:// in the beginning of the link. So you get http://http://www....
You need to remove both http's and surf on... |

I don't think that is the problem. The URL in my (Chrome) browser is exactly as Gregor has pasted (i.e. only one http). Does the link generate a double http for you? If so are you using a different browser?

Yep.
I get double http's on all of my four computers, having: Win7 IE11, WinXP IE8, Win8 IE10 and iPad2 Safari -browsers.
Actually the second http is missing the colon, this is how it gets on browser's address bar;

Hi
Just tried it in IE11 and I get the double http, which explains the link failure. As you say, if you remove the second http the link now works. I've also just discovered that Chrome removes the first http in the address bar (ie a working address starts www.), which explains why the link appears not to have the double http in Chrome. You learn something new on PCs every day!

Glad it sorted.
My iPad also hides "http" so I need to scroll left to get it visible.
Sorry Gregor, just borrowing your link for testing,
OK, just checking that if you strip "http" when you paste a link to this forum, it works fine. Edited by Sailingjack - 10 December 2013 at 16:59 |

Sorry to fill traveler thread with this link stuff,
but if I point Gregors first mail
http://www.uisge-beatha.eu/gallery/Winter0910/Overloop/1-20-45.html
with mouse cursor it shows on the low left corner of my IE browser window:
which is not correct, an extra http// is emerged
My testing link
shows on the low left corner:
http://www...
Which is OK, http:// is added
Gregors last "replay" link
shows
http://www...
Which is also OK, but nothing is added even when the link looks exactly like the first faulty one... Go figure.
Oh well, back to travelers ... over and out.
