Hi, can anyone suggest block size (brand/model) of the block/blocks used on the self tacking jib please?
Interested to hear what is supplied from factory.
At this stage I’m also using a block on the clew of the sail so assume that means 2:1. Thanks in advance. |

Hi Selene6467,
in order to size the self tacking jib as large as possible I exchanged the original block by a short Selden block on the rail side and a low friction ring which is directly fixed at the jib with a dyneema splice. BR, Rainer

Hi Rainer,
Hi Selene6467, On my 2003 Hanse 371 I also plan to renew the block on the rail and the block on the clew of the jib. Can someone help me with the correct model number / brand ? Greetz, Koen Scarab

Hi Scarab, the block on the rail is a Selden block (don't ask me which exact type). Attached to the jib is a loop only (with a short shackle and Dynema). So you have a very short distance between rail and jib. Maybe the picture below helps. This solutions works well since 10 years. BR, Rainer |
