I will return to the boat and look at the adjustable bottom section of the foil, adjusting this looks straight forward as long as the screws comne out OK. The riggers who are going to look at the top cap and associated bearing have told me: -
"It is a big job to change the top cap on your set up because you have a fork at the top end of the forestay. The cap will not pass over the fork so the whole system will require stripping….This is quite a task on a large system.. The top bearing locks into the top cap. The fact that you cap is still intact tells me that the bearing is still in place." Edited by gizmo - 28 February 2012 at 18:15 |

Looking a second time at your pictures tells me that the cap is still there. I previously thought that is was missing, sorry. The top part of my forestay is not a fork so the cap would easily pass over it. As for the bearings inside the foil, I am a bit unsure where they would be located. I could not see any when I looked down the foil. Johan |

Thanks for your valued input, now I have a bit more knowledge it looks to me that the cap has been either split or cut to allow it to be passed around the wire as it would not fit over the fork. But I will have to look closer when I get it removed. Ken
