I was amazed to read that the 508 which is designed to be sailed with 10 people aboard in the charter version only has a 20 L waterheater. On my 470 I had a 40 L and on such a big boat like the 508 this definitely is not enough. Who knows more or better?? My dealer didn't believe me until I showed him the specs.

My 505 has a small QUICK boiler that’s likely that size. Tiny.
Produces plenty of very hot water, I’ve never really run out and it recharges quickly off the generator (220v) or engine. There’s a mixing valve there - set the thermostat on the hotter side (for the 220v heater) and dilute with cold at the valve and you should be fine.

We have the same tiny Quick water heater.  We installed a 11 gallon 240V second water heater under the starboard aft berth.  It is plumbed to the engine cooling system.  Between the two water heaters we can generate hot water from the engine, shore power or generator and also the Espar cabin heater.
