Hi,

I'm presently weighing up the pros and cons of the 630E versus the CNB Bordeaux 60.

I'd be grateful for any feedback existing 630E owners could provide, so here goes.

1 - Does anyone have standing headroom dimensions in meters of all internal areas within the 630E?

2 - Does anyone have the lifting keel option? I heard rumours that it doesn't work so well but have no evifdence at all to back this up.

3 - Is the 630E a well designed and assembled vessel? There seem to be quite a few problems here that point to questionable design and build, but again this could be just the usual new-boat snagging issues. Or more?

4 - Did any 630E owners look at the Bordeaux 60? If so what made you buy the Hanse?

Thank you VERY much for any replies Smile

hi,

1) the standing headroom is enough for my friend (195 cm) but have not measured it since it is more than enough for me (177 cm) everywhere.
2) I wouldn't go for the lifting keel option since all the mechanism is inside the keel! l also I heard some problems with the design.
3) the 630 is very well designed. I have the carbon mast and the boat is extremely fast. I had minor problems with the Lewmar hatches but Hanse and Lewmar took care of the problem (the flash deck hatches were replaced). I also had problems with the BAMAR electric jib furler. Hanse wants to replace the furler with an other brand, but I chose to fix the problems myself. BAMAR Italy is not a good company!!! Now Hanse does not fit these furlers anymore. After fixing the problems and improving the design myself AT MY OWN COST i have no problems.
I would certainly buy the 630 again.
4) The 630 does not compare with the Bordeaux 60. They are different boats for different uses. The Bordeaux is a more classic design with the big crew, long relaxed passages  and most probably the charter market  in mind. I would compare the 630 with the Shipman 63 or a small Wally (if it was available).

Well designed boat, bad build quality. Many, many headaches...
