Helle everyone,

I am new to this Forum and pretty in The World of sailing. My husband and I are currently looking at buying a 350. The last orner has invested a fair amount of money on refitting the outside of the boat. My question: what’s the average life span for the rigging, the mainsail and Genoa, water tanks, windex, toilet etc. We are trying to figure out what costs to calculate with in the coming years…

All tips are highly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum and Hanse.
Most people would expect to replace standing rigging after 15 years, perhaps less if racing or highly tuned.  I'm not familiar with the rig on the 350 but the recent Selden rigs need quite a bit of tension.
If your insurance may require a survey or specify the maximum age of standing rigging.
The cruising laminate sails currently being used appear to last about 6-8 years before showing signs of delamination.  If you have plain Dacron they will last much longer but will stretch and lose shape quicker.  If you are not racing this may not matter to you.
Running rigging will chafe and wear.  You may find newer rope (especially dyneema when you can go down a size or two) will significantly reduce friction and make sail handling much less effort.
The other things you mention should not need replacing, although the windex is vulnerable to damage.
Other things to consider are batteries which will gradually be less efficient.  AGM may last 6-8 years.
Finally marine electronics are constantly evolving so you may want to look at how current your instruments are.  Definitely go fo NMEA2000 rather than 0183.

[Edit:. If you are marina based, you will almost certainly find that your mooring costs and annual lift for antifouling will be the bulk of your overall expenses.]

The correct answer to your question is, it depends :-) 
Where do you draw the line between "nice to" and "need to"? Are you or your SO skilled craftsmen? What is the general levet of maintenance when you buy the boat and where do you want to be maintenance-wise? How worn are the different equipments? How old is the batteries, the instruments, how many hours on the engine? If the boat has teak-deck, I would be vary, that's an expence waiting.
I co-own the boat with my dad, and when something breaks he want's to repair and my take is to replace with new. My take is more expensive, definitely, but easier in the long term. What is your strategy?

The better the boat is maintained the less will break, but eventually things WILL break, that's the inevitable truth. And parts for boats is expensive, just another inevitable truth. Every time you set your feet in a Marine equipment store it's at least 500DKK:-)

Regarding the standing rigging, I know of very few danes, who replace the standing rigging every 15 years. I know, I would, if I was to cross the oceans, but for the last 5 decades our Bandholm never got it replaced. We inspect it every year, and if it looks fine, we sail along happily. We bought a 2007 315 November last year, and plan to carry on with the inspections yearly. 
To my knowledge our insurance company (Pantaenius) does not require us to replace the standing rigging.

Another thing - where do you live in Denmark? if you live near Copenhagen or Århus you should get the spot before you buy the boat. The waiting lists are crazy long. 

I am based in Lynæs with a 315 and the spot cost 55k for the "andel" and 6k yearly, insurance 8k and then the rest.

On our old boat we sailed with 25 year old sails. I don't think I'll ever do that again. The improvement with new sails was vast.
If you maintain the engine and drive, it will probably outlast you (if the POs also did). But parts also break on these. On the old boat we had to replace the seawater pump, party due to lack of craftmanship on my behalf, that was 7k ...

Velbekomme :)

Vi valgte 31 fod, da både min far (på 82!) og jeg sejler alene og så skal båden ikke være mere end det, for os. Men 350 ser ud som en virkelig dejlig båd. 
Personligt kan jeg bedre lide vinduerne (man kan vel ikke nærmest ikke kalde dem koøjer mere;)) på den gamle type, men det er jo smag og behag. 
342 og 350 var også med i vores overvejelser, men dels er de til den store side for os, og så er der jo også det med økonomien ;)

Vores båd var med (næsten) nyt storsejl og selvvendefok og nye instrumenter og generelt i virkelig fin og original stand.  
Alligevel har vi på under et år brugt i nærheden af 100k på diverse (udover løbende udgifter som plads og forsikring). Ny større plotter (vi faktisk kan se;)), ombygning af batteribank, montering af fald til genakker (vores mast skulle ombygges lidt af en rigger), nyt rulleforstag (det Facnor båden kom med, var virkelig dårligt), ombygning af agterstag (ala http://www.wesailhanse.se/370_backstay.htm, virkelig en forbedring med også dyrt), en brugt genakker er det også blevet til plus det løse :)

Meget af det vi har købt, er helt klart i nice to have-kategorien, og vi kunne have klaret os med langt mindre. 
Min filosofi er dog “buy once, cry once”. Det clasher af og til med min fars filosofi, men båden er virkelig fin nu, og meget tæt på det, jeg ønskede. 

Højt på listen ligger også nogle nye hynder, dem vi har er ikke noget for prinsessen (mig) ;) og en code 0 og så opstår behov jo relativt hurtigt …
