Any 385 owners with factory A/C have to get to the condensation sump?  It's a Rule shower drain system and the Rule-A-Matic float failed closed so the pump keeps running ... terrible failure mode in my opinion.  I've read these float switches are terrible so I'll replace with an ultra or similar good quality switch.

Questions:

1.  The pump is buried deep under the table's seat.  Any suggestions around the least difficult way to remove the furniture and floor in that area?

2.  Which float switch would you recommend as a replacement?

I'm thrilled to have another fall project ...

Thanks!

I am having the same issue with a bad float on my 2014 Hanse 415.  In the 415 the unit is under the floor board so a bit easier to get to.  Unfortunately I can not answer your questions only can add anther to it:
Any advise or tricks on wiring the new float?
Thanks

Removing the floor boards didn't prove to be too difficult.  I had to move the table and remove a few screws supporting the forward bench.  I ended up doing the following:

1.  Moved the condensing pump circuit from the X9_1 section (always has power) of the lower fuse panel to an open slot in the X9_4 section (powers off with main 12V switch).
2.  I installed a bidge pump switch near the AC panel to provide AUTO/Off/Manual control for the pump (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00V4NYJ68/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

Our A/C condensation pump has recently failed to stop until we located the fuse (with the help of Inspiration Marine).  Problem, as stated is access.  The condensor box for ours sits just aft of the door to the forward cabin and the inspection hatch isn't big enough to do much with.  Can anyone advise how easy it is to lift the floor boarding?  Is it bonded in anyway or does it just lift once all the furniture is out of the way?  Likewise does the furniture just unscrew? A new Rule shower pump assembly (pump and float switch) is around £125 and should be an easy swap once the floor is up.

Thanks for the really useful post and pictures.

The floor wasn't glued on ours.  Just had to unscrew the table and move it aside.  It proved easier than I thought it would be.  You should be able to get the floor boards out without removing the starboard and aft bench seats.

Job done and as stated very easy to remove the fwd sofa seat (4 wood screws) and the main table (again 4 screws) and lift the deck.  Replaced the pump unit with a whole new Rule shower drain, pump and float switch just in case running the pump dry had damaged it.  Pump is part number 98A and around £110 in the UK.

Problem seems to have been a short in the float switch meaning the pump was permanently on, once the float switch engaged it did speed up the pump but it was never off.

About a 2 hour job not including the time to work out how to do it!
