I should look back at the wiring diagram, but my recollection is that 3K1 was wired with the shore power/ gen selector, dont see how it affects the water heater line only

Thank you guys for the help here. I am not currently at the boat but wanted to get some ideas before I get back to troubleshoot. As far as I can remember, the AC selector is in “shore power,” where it sits while I’m at the dock. I have not tried the generator yet but will remember to. The condition occurred while everything was as normal. The AC’s were running (2) and then they weren’t. I had been using the winch in the process of bringing the jib down. After I noticed that the AC’s were off, I checked the switches at the AC panel and none of the right side had power, including the water heater. As I said, I checked the breaker at the port lazarette and the breakers on the panel - all good. The meter shows 240 volts and I’m pretty sure that the switch hasn’t moved from “shore power” but will check again when I get back. I’m also going to query my dealer to see if he has any suggestions.

Sounds good Mike. While you’re at it, double check the voltage at BOTH main breakers on the Ac panel. And test both sides of each breaker (voltage going in and voltage going out). They are located AFTER the selector switch so that info would be helpful.

Marsella. I think you are misreading the diagrams. The 3K1 relay has two sections. The one you are looking at near the selector is the SENSE COIL. It is looking for the presence of shore power or generator. The section that does the switching is elsewhere on the diagrams. It is on the page that shows the BOILER circuit and clearly shows the 3K1 relay switching the BOILER on and off. BTW, the boiler circuit is on the right side of the panel, but it runs off the left side buss along with the outlets, etc. Hanse did this to better balance the loads between the two electric busses. The purpose of 3K1 is to remove the large boiler load when running the inverter and batteries. I hope this helps.

Arcadia
Your are speaking about a 575/588 model, unfortunately not all the models have the same electrical layout I believe ,it depends model by model ,build year by build year, Philippi panel versus Wurth, Victron versus Mastervolt and Europe or US version.Cry
This can working very confusing sometimes on this forum.
Mike32 do you have the electric wiring diagram of yours 458 model than we can have a look how your electrical system is configured.,

Yes Wilfried, I can appreciate that but I am sure the 458 has the same wiring as the 588. Certainly with respect to the problem being presented.

Thanks for the diagrams Mike. They are the same as the 588. Relay 3K1 operates as I said, only on the Boiler. Check the items I mentioned when you get to your boat. We’ll figure this out!

Yes indeed after looking at the wiring diagram.
Like Arcadia said, only if the source switch is in position generator our wallpower the relay 3K1 wil close and provide power to the hot water boiler and if installed the washer-dryer.

I can add to my early post that I chatted about those high loads switches with Hanse after sales rep who mentioned that some additional circuit breakers maybe located inside a cabinet at the port cabin. There is an access to it at the bottom of the cabinet, but my 458 without factory AC just covers  a small void space behind the cabinet. Maybe worth checking if there is anything there.
