I’m not familiar with your set up. What is the location of the furler button(s) and which winch do you use for outhaul. Installing a second winch button next to the furler button is simple. A two conductor wire (16 gauge) needs to be run from the winch button to the new location. It will be spliced onto the existing winch wires at the button and then wired to the new button. This new button can be any style as long as it is SPST momentary (on). Amazon has lots of waterproof round panel mount buttons.

i am aware there is a specialised solution for the winch, made by Selden themselves, where the winch moves in coordination with the main furler.

you have to change the winch, but admittedly you get a cleaner solution for the issue. I always wondered how people without the synchronisation could take care of what you're describing. Finally, i am not unhappy of the manual solution, despite the fact i did all possible mistakes (i machined two pulleys on the mast and damaged three loops...but now lessons learnt!) |
