Don't know the model year of your boat, but if recent, say the last 10 yrs, what Ian said. You only need one GPS and it feeds the backbone for ANY instrument that would use GPS data.

The FOB you are holding up is the remote for the GPS, a great device. You just pair it with instruments. The battery in the fob is the limiting feature, I just replaced mine each season. This required you to re pair it to the device.
