Hi,
Does anyone has modified main battery locker setup on H 355 ?
Original setting is nice but is a huge waste of space.
Any photo welcome.
By the way : does anyone switches from AGM to LifePO4 ?

Best regards
Bruno

I changed the setup with two 80 Ah lead acid batteries to a 44 Ah starter battery
and a 100 Ah LiFePo4 house battery.

The battery is made up of 4 100 Ah Winston yellow cells.
https://www.ev-power.eu/Winston-40Ah-200Ah/?cur=1&force_sid=cc6u9d95nj6vdutct612a6gd56

The BMS is home made. It takes care of ending the charge correctly and disconnecting the consumer side at low battery voltage.
The house battery can be drained to almost empty before the consumer side is automatically disconnected.
I am using the standard alternator which is charging  a bit slowly, but in practice for me it has not been a problem.

The capacity of the 100 Ah cells is specified with a 1C consumer current. But since my current is max about 0.05 C, that gives maybe an extra 20 Ah capacity.

I think the LFP 100 Ah battery (weight 14 Kg) has the same usable capacity as a 250 Ah lead battery (weight 80 Kg ?)

I have a Hanse 315 2006.

I urge to to read the articles on Nordkyn Design about LiFePo4 batteries before making any decision.

Thanks for answer & photo.
My engine battery sits in engine bay.
My current service battery is a 165 Ah AGM (48 kg) from Victron.
I wish I can afford LIFEPO4 system but still a lot of money (with BMS, latching relays, ...) since I need 130 - 150 Ah LIFEPO4 system.
I need min 100 (useable) Ah per day during summer cruises.
So choice is between two 110 Ah AGM (65 kg and 650 EUR or so) or 130-150 Ah LIFEPO4 system (less than 30 kg but 1800 EUR...).
In both case I have to build a new setting in service battery locker (located under portside settee)

hay Bufran,

changed original 1 x Victron 12V- 165Ah AGM for 2 x Victron 12V - 165Ah AGM in original battery locker by removing original sterling charger. Sterling charger makes to mutch noise in the cabin.
place new Victron Multy plus 35-800 charger in aft locker.

Hi Navegador,

Very nice setup.
I may copy this.
But 165 Ah battery weighs 48 kg.  So 96 kg for 2 battery (+10kg or so for Multiplus)
Isn't it too much weight only on portside ?  Doesn't she list more on portside ?

hay Bruno,

compensated by 150 Kg lead blocks on starboard, secured under starboard cabin seating locker.
