Hi I was wondering if anyone can tell me what settings they use for the echo sounder for the Zeus3 echo display screen. I get no bottom line showing. I have a new Airmar DST810. I have tried various settings with no success. (Different frequency, chirp, zoom, noise reduction etc) Although the depth is shown and changes in the upper top tool bar of the main screen and on all the other instruments, it is not shown on the echo sounder screen, above the temperature reading. Which is puzzling.

Cheers

This is for Forwadscan Sonar and needs an appropriate transducer which I believe is connected to the MFD via a dedicated (ethernet?) port.  Nothing to do with the N2K DST.

You can turn this feature off so it doesn't appear on you "app" menu via settings.

Hi S&J and hope your enjoying sailing your new H458. If your ever in the Adriatic and up in Montenegro give me a shout.
I see where you coming from, but maybe I didn't explain it well. In the B&G Operations Manual there is a section (#14) on the echo sounder and and further section (#15) on the ForwardScan. My understanding is these are two completely separate fitted transducers and use different screens on the chart plotter to display their relative information. My issue is with section 14 echo sounder and its settings.
Cheers

I was in the Adriatic earlier this year.  Loved Montenegro, especially the mountains (except for the Bora).  Maybe back there next year depending on Croatia's Schengen status.
I still think that both Echo Sounder and ForwardScan require additional transducers in addition to the simple DST810.  (See requirements in the manual.)  The DST simply provides a single depth whereas the scanners / sounders provide a more complete image projecting ahead and to the side.
The ForwardScan has been mentioned several times but I have not heard if a separate Echo Soiunder transducer.
If you don't have these transducers, the feature can be turned off via Settings/System/Advanced/Features.
