Hey 455/458 guys and girls, have any of you replaced the 1600w MasterVolt Mass/Combi with a bigger inverter, like a Victron MultiPlus 3000w? I’ve been thinking of doing that when the time comes for a lithium upgrade. I’m just not sure if it will fit in the same space behind the settee cushion. The regular MultiPlus is too thick and the MultiPlusII is pretty tall - maybe too tall? Just wondering if anyone has made it work.
I have a US spec boat with 50 amp split phase shore power, 240 v Mass/Combi and a Victron 240-120 transformer. I was thinking that with the Victron MultiPlusII 2x120 I could replace two boxes with one and ditch the extra transformer. I’m just not sure if I can squeeze it in there and can’t think of another spot for it. Here’s a picture of my factory setup: ![]() |

Mike,
I dont think Victron is going to fit. I installed two Mastervolt inverters , 12to 120, 2500W ( right on pic) and 12to240, 3000W ( left on pic) , they both fit. Have Mastervolt charger (no inverter) which takes any voltage to charge 12V batteries installed by Hanse ( I moved it very far left). That was my built to US specs. Also I replaced Hanse bats by Victron Li (6 pack of 200Ah, they all fit as you see) ![]() |

I replaced my original US-spec'd inverter charger with a mastervolt 2500 - same overall dimensions as the factory supplied unit which had failed. Needed to remove about three inches from the bottom of the opening to the unit (wood back to the setee) to remove the old one and install the new one. No way to get the old one out without some wood surgery.

Yes some cutting is needed, also I moved subwoofer to the wall under nav table so that the whole space can be filled with mppts and other stuff
