https://www.myhanse.com/search_results_posts.asp?SearchID=20191202112843&KW=exturn
https://www.myhanse.com/exturn-bow-thruster_topic8191&OB=DESC_page2.html

No soy marinero, soy Capitán.
Saludos
:Kjeld

The reason I mounted the Exturn on my boat, was the price. A retractable thruster costs three times as much, and a normal (equal-priced) tunnel-thruster is in my opinion not suitable for a Hanse due to the flat bottom. Try to show this picture to an engineer, and ask, if he/she will recommend the placement of the thruster, taking into consideration the structural weakness which occur because of the two big holes in the fibreglass. Furthermore, the thruster is located very close to the waterline, so there will be a lot of foam, but little effectiveness.
In this forum the retractable thruster has recieved some criticism, try the search function.

Our bow thruster on a 2012 Hanse 345 as requested.

We are quite happy with it. Was on the boat when we purchased her. Very handy in marinas, particularly when reversing into tight spaces or to compensate for wind on the bow. Seems to be deep enough to be effective and does not cavitate or produce lots of air bubbles.

It is wired into the house batteries with big cables running to the thruster motor. Tunnel and motor seem to fit fine just in front of water tank.
Hanse 345 - Tenacious. Sailing on the Solent and now to the west coast of Scotland.

?Good morning, I have been traveling and I have not entered the forum, thank you all for the answers, especially those who have done it in Spanish, And excuse me ... not having written in English, now I write using google translator, I hope You understand me by writing.
As I said recently I bought a Hanse 345, short draft (1.50m), I have it on the coast of Alicante - Spain and my intention is to navigate the Spanish coast and the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean.
I'm thinking of putting the bow thruster, because here some ports are narrow, it is much easier to maneuver, although they say you lose some tenths of speed.

?Thanks for the CrocDundee information, I will speak with the professional to study the possibility of installing the bow thruster taking the power from the service tubs, without having to put an exclusive battery for the bow thruster. Since the batteries are under the seats, they are not relatively far from the bow.
Thank you.

I too have a tunnel bow thruster on my H345.  It is a Side Power SE40, and works very well.  It was installed by Osmotech (Port Hamble, UK) when the boat was first commissioned.  I also paid for the wireless remote control option which also operates the anchor windlass which candidly, has been used very little.  The bow thruster is great and is regularly used.  Teflon based antifoul must be used on the propeller.

Good luck - Paul

We also have a Side Power SE40 installed, I have a series of pictures from the installation.  If you would like to see them let me know and I will send you a PM with a link.
