I am looking at doing the classic malt cruise in 2012 in my 301.
Has anybody got any experiance on this cruise;-
Is it worth the money?
Any information would be greatfully received.
Dave

I have not done the Malt Cruise as such , although have thought about it.
However I did a week all around there this past july , and visited Tobermory and Tallisker before heading to Harris , and I have to say its amazing. The Minch was calm we had dolphins Minkey whales and so on.So really the cost if not too expensive give it a try.

We did the malts in 2009, this was a different format; excelent value and good fun.
Gertha has also sailed Rally Portugal and ARC with World Cruising , they are profesional and know what they are at. The MD of World Cruising keeps his boat close to Oban although he lives on Solant, I would sugest that reflects his love for the area. S |

Hi Dave,
We're back online in New Caledonia on our way home to Brisbane. Happy to crew for you on the malts cruise in Old Caledonia. Don't mind a wee dram from time to time. Good luck with the rugger tomorrow night! Cheers Chris G |

Hiya Chris, Glad to hear you are fine, long time since we have heard any of your nuggets of wisdom.
I will certainly put your name down as a back up
Yes the Rugby is going to be a great game but I think we will triumph. Then it will be the best match of all NZ v Wales.

Maaaate,
You deserved to win, the Frogs just weren't there. Tomorrow the Wallabies play the All Blacks - reckon that will be the final! |

Hi Dave
I have registered my interest with the cruising club and am now awaiting information to arrive. It would be rude to be on the west coast of Scotland and not try to take part in 2012 wouldnt it!

If you go to http://www.yachtingtv.co.uk/ you will need to create an account but once you have if you go to video archives there is a cruising section and in there is a long video of a chap that spent a week there. I have to admit I have a bit of an agenda in posting this. The classic malts cruise is my idea of sailing heaven and if you (or anyone else for that matter) do decide to go and need a crew then look no further J |
