Yes.. I just saw that P-12 in the configuration
parameters also lets you decide on this behavior. I have to see what
this looks like when I get down to the boat. See below. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Ironically, my seawater pump stopped working a few weeks back. After exploring the incorrect assumption that it was the electric motor only to find the motor was fine, I've been on a wild goose chase trying to find the cause. Does anyone know where this relay is located typically, I have a 545. Shame this thread didn't start a few weeks earlier..... :-(

I had this same issue a few years ago.
For years the big central AC pump came on only upon demand from an AC unit. Then it started running continuously. Annoying.
Spent some time on the phone/exchanging email with Dometic customer support, who determined that the circuit panel on one of the AC units was defective. (My Marineairre system with ELITE control panels is set up so you can toggle the pump to run continuously, or only on demand from the compressor, and it was set up correctly). Not sure if your unit is Dometic, but the rep there is Mark Bower 954-366-2778 or mark.bower@dometic.com. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Fairly easy to swap out the panel, which incidentally was also fairly easy to repair, and I now have a spare. Edited by kipwrite - 10 May 2025 at 23:16 |

Rick, on my panel the option for pump setting is at the P-11 location. Different firmware I guess. But be aware that the default setting as Kipwrite says is PUMP ON WITH COMPRESSOR so likely the relay board is bad.

Just remembered, that relay panel is usually a six channel unit meaning you’ll have 2 spare inputs. In the event that the failure is in one of the inputs, you can move it to one of the spare channels. You’ll need to determine the cause of the failure (wrong controller setting, bad relay board input or bad relay board output.)

Leon, I just arrived on my boat and was planning to look at it tomorrow. The P-12 vs P-11 info came from a manual I found on the internet. I need to verify model, manual, etc. first before doing anything. I know I have the AC manuals, but not sure about the pump. Will let you folks know what I find out. |
