Meaban, your pin doesn't seem to have been up to the job.

Did that happen during gennaker sailing?

Hi Johan,

It happened with a code zero, at reaching with 15-18 knots of real wind.

Has anyone thought of rigging a short bobstay below the gennaker pin to support it under load?  It does look to me as though the whole setup is too flimsy in winds of 15knots and above, either with a standard A-sail or a code0.

I agree with you this should be the best solution.

Are you achieving better boat speed with with code 0 than standard sails in 15-18 knots wind.

With code zero and 1st reef yes definitely between 90° and 140° of real wind. Of course no hope close hauled. We can go to max 55° of real wind, but up to 11-12 knots we need to change to jib.
