Hello, I hope that may be my issue will be helpfull for you. Engine D1-30 volvo penta.
After pressing 'on' button very soon alarm starts to ring. On display appears a triangle with exclamation mark. Manual says that could be short or open circuit. When I started the engin alarm stoped ringing. After checking all cables connecting MDI box with engine control panel I have found everything ok. The reason was the wrong glow plugs (open). The MDI box is checking the all sensors and also glow plugs for very low resistance. (about 0.5Ohm, one glow plug has about 1,5 OHM). Interesting is that the check fails when all 3 plugs are burned. And it was my case. To make sure that this is the cause of the alarm (I did not have a new glow plug) connect the 12V bulb to the heating wire of plugs and press the on button. The bulb simulates the glow plugs ( resistance1,2 OHM) in good cindition. |
