I picked up a mooring buoy in Lochranza, North end of Isle of Arran, west Coast of Scotland in August, and whilst ashore flew my drone over Dancing Demon...

Dave I get the hump at the number of drones being flown irresponsibly. Clearly that is not you in that group. However, there are a lot. My other hobby is RC model plane flying. Unregistered drone users tend to bring our hobby into dis-repute because the CAA wanted to lump all fliers of small RC units into one. This meant that the British Model Flying assn has had to work hard to ensure that the CAA did not enforce draconian rules on bonafide Rc club members like myself. My club has strict rules on how we fly & we even ban the use of drones. However, we find that we are now lumbered with an additional £19-00 per annum to cover the cost of a totally unnecessary (to us at least) registration fee. Typically bought on by drones trespassing in sensative areas. Take for example the situation when a drone stopped flights fron Stanstead airport. All our members are members of the BMFA which includes suitable insurance & none of us fly without supervision until we have passed a flying test & a verbal questionaire. It took me 40 lessons at £ 25-00 each to get my A certificate. If I did not spend so much time sailing I would ,by now, have attained my B cert so I could enter competitions in public. Something I might do. Nearly there but then I go sailing & have to brush up again!!!!! I was only joking when I said " just checking", but I am sure that you can understan how I feel about those that do break the rules.

My MX 75 inch wingspan. I have a Pitts Special same wingspan, plus half a dozen smaller ones ,
