I will share my experience when rain is encountered.

Gloves were like this http://www.biltema.fi/fi/Veneily/Muut/Veneilykasineet-2000020895/, neoprene and some other materials. Can not say it was exactly Apple feel but worked ok :)...

That would be great to know if rain on the screen still lets the device work as normal.

The gloves being neoprene appear to be similar to the contact surface of the pens used on android smart phones and tablets that are waterproof and would work fine in this environment. You mention apple feel, which I believe suggests you are making a reference to apple products? However, I don't know of any apple products that are waterproof, so use in marine, or just damp environments would most likely destroy these.
Cheers,

B&G Vulcan performs very well in the rain. We had good conditions for the tests yesterday, 4 hours of moderate to heavy rain during our journey. No problems at all. This device seems like excellent value for money...

Perttu,

Thanks for the feedback this gives me the confidence to give this a try as a replacement for my basic Garmin unit.

Hi Perttu,

with interest I have seen your retrofittings of your Hanse 355.
I also would like to retrofit a legsupport/footrest in the middle of my cockpit and therefore I have the following questions:

Could you please explain how your legsupport has been fixed / connected with the cockpit floor?
What is the heigth of your legsupport?

Many thanks and kind regards,
Hucky2
