Hi everybody,
On my 350 the starboard clutch bank consists of five Spinlock XAS clutches, a triple and a double, while the port bank has two doubles. The mounting pads are both the same size, which leaves the space for an additional clutch on the port side. I have read elsewhere on this forum that the clutches are mounted with machine screws into a pre installed plate set into the coachroof . I would like to extend the port bank to take a reefing line for the third reef, does anybody know if the plate on the port side is large enough to take the 5 clutches, and how easy it is to locate and drill through to presumably replace the existing double with a triple? Many thanks Bob |

This is correct.
I've done this upgrade on my H355 (deck layout is 95% the same). I put a new clutch for cunningham. Simply unscrew the present 2 way clutch. Put the 3 way in place and screw it. Mark the 2 new holes (for the 'third clutch'. Unscrew the clutch. Drill carefully to 5,5 mm (take care of axis ; be perpendicular from deck level). Tap aluminium plate to 6 mm (very easy with good quality tools). Screw the whole thing back using TefGel or Duralac + a drop of sika & it's done. It's maximum a one hour job. Just need the right & efficient tools + care & precision .

Hi Bruno,
Thanks very much for the clear and detailed instructions, I will get a good tool to tap the thread and hope I find it as easy as you did. Bob |
