Hi,
I am considering installing Exturn bow thruster. There are two models: SX50 using 12 volt and giving 55-60 kg thrust or the EX95 using 24 volt and giving 70-95 kg thrust. Advices on thrust needed are much appreciated.

If you use "advanced search->any date->all forums->"exturn"", you find this and more:

I have the EX95 on my H400. I would not choose a smaller model.
The Exturn is made in Norway by Sleipner. I made a good bargain in Maritim Båtudstyr.
I installed 2x12V batteries in a box in front of the water tank.

I installed a Sleipner SE50 three years ago in my 370. ex90,  ex55 (sx50 was not available) and all variations of 140mm and 180mm tunnel thruster were considered. I prioritized robustness, price and effectivity, and chose the new 140mm SE50 thruster from Sleipner.

In order to have an effective bow thruster solutions, both flow in to the thruster and a large turning moment are important. The EX models are very efficient with that respect (and quite as well). Hanse yard do also have the SX50 as an option for the 388 and the 418. I have tested it in the 388 model and I consider it as powerfull enough, but the effectivenss will depend of the position of the thruster.

We installed a 24-volt Exturn thruster on our 385 last year. Now the boat can literally make a circle. It is really incredible and I am not sure how I did without it.
