We have a 388 but I think this might be relevant for a few other models as well: anyone figured out a good solution to sit/half-sit comfortably facing forward on the cockpit bench?

Our cockpit benches end with the Jefa pedestals covering a bit of it and the steering wheels the rest. It's really comfortable to sit on the bench facing the other way, but when on AP it would be great to do the same facing forward.

Hi Mglonnro,
Yes I think this an challenge for many and I think the answer is to fit hand rails/grab rails forward of the steering coulmns that you can fix a soft back support to.

Love the blog you have keep it up.

sailing backwards will help😉 for sure!

Maybe this can help a little bit, if sailing in moderate conditions....

Thank you for your kind words about the blog!

And grab rails could certainly be designed and implemented to enable this feature as well, good idea!

We use the Comfort seats in the cockpit and the foredeck at various times. They are very useful and fold flat for storage. Have had ours for about 5 years. We have some friends with a 415 who had seats made as you have suggested and they like them. But the Comfort seats would do the same thing but also are moveable to other areas and even a beach if you want.

Likewise we have 2 seats from Compass 24 which we use in the cockpit and on foredeck
