Hi - has anyone fitted a 3 blade prop to their Hanse 348?  The standard propeller does not appear to be very efficient.  Anyone else felt the same?

Original Volvo fixed prop is a crappy thing.
Under 38-40 ft, you don't need a 3 blade prop.
I'm very happy with my composite 2blade Flex-o-Fold ; far more efficient than original fixed prop (300 rpm less at same speed and 15 % less fuel)

Hi. I have found the same and am considering alternatives. It works well manoeuvring in harbour but for long passages it is not efficient.  It is the standard 2 blade folding prop.  Not sure oftype. Am investigating.

On NADINE with a 29 HP Yanmar, I seem to be able to get 7.2 knots with the throttle wide open at 3,200 RPM and about 5 knots at 2,000 RPM. Certainly quite adequate, I agree, but I would love to get a little more performance when under power too. Interested to hear additional thoughts from the group.

This is low speed.
I am  getting with the 29HP Volvo and standard Hanse 2 blade folding prop:
2000 rpm gives 5.9 - 6.0 knots
2300 rpm gives 6.5 knots

My speeds are 5kts at 2,300 with 29hp. Whilst speed is acceptable I would have expected with a 29hp to have achieved this with lower revs - around 1800-2000.

It's good to have your data. I agree that the 29 hp seems like it should do better. I will clean the paddle wheel on my DST transducer this weekend and see if that makes a difference. Otherwise, I may be due for a bottom cleaning. In the water (western Long Island Sound) since April 1.
Thank you all very much.
