as in the video in my Hanse 531 the propeller does not turn, the symptom is as if it was disengaged. if I move the propeller blades then it works for some time but it is much louder and makes an unusual sound ... when I move the propeller I first feel some resistance ... has anyone had a similar problem how to deal with it? thank you for your help ... can I unscrew and lift this white cover to see the gear? unfortunately I am in the middle of an expedition and I am standing on the water ...

Did you check the carbon brushes of the electric engine?
Check for carbon dust in the engine?

If the engine running normal the problem must by in the gearbox ⚙️our de connection between engine and gearbox. Unfortunately by most of the bowtrusters (I don’t know for yours Max ) you only can disconnect the gearbox for inspection when out of the water

From what I have seen with our 575 thruster,   QUICK (unlike simple things like snowblowers) does not have a "sacrificial" component to take the abuse once something gets into the prop.    The drive leg then gets abused and needs to be replaced.    While the motor can be replaced with the boat in the water, the drive leg cannot.     I have no idea what your problem is, but my experience with QUICK is that its easy to grind up the drive leg.

On our RMG (now Lewmar) there’s a 2 sacrificial shearpins.
Still than a broken gearbox (the RMG gearbox is a Lewmar products)under warranty RMG send us new one and change the material of the shearpin. A few years later a mooringline in the prop ,gearbox again broken while  bought shearpins (propeller- and engine-gearbox connection) not broken and intact
Even with a sacrificial component the Lewmar gearboxes are to weak our the shearpins to strong.
I do not know MAX truster have a shearpin to protect the drive leg?

unfortunately after disassembling the thruster I probably diagnosed the problem. I was hoping it was the plastic clutch between the engine and the shaft but when I held the shaft on top and turned the propeller blades I could feel the teeth skipping. I had to order a composite leg. Now I'm waiting for the shipment. What's more interesting is that in my Max Power Vip 150 24v they changed its design over the years and I also have to replace the 3-blade propeller blades with 5-blade ones... I'm just curious if it will fit in the tunnel because my propellers have a diameter of 180mm and the new ones are 185mm... while looking for the cause I found a lot of interesting and useful documentation but I can't attach them to the forum on my tablet

Our Lewmar leg is still in brass what I prefer against the new composite ones.I hope for you the 185mm ( who is the more common diameter for trusters) will fit in the tunnel.
I changed the original tunneltube (185) after some damage by a new stronger 185mm one and that’s easy to do.
