Hi. I've had a NAC-3 AC installed. But, with a max countiuous output of 30amps it was tripping the 15A circuit breaker on the standard Calira Sealine 331 panel.

A technician has installed a direct cable from the battery to a new switch on the panel, with a 30A fuse inline next to the battery.

Whilst this works, I don't like it because the cable bypasses the Battery Monitor and I'd prefer to use a circuit breaker if possible.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue with the NAC-3 and found a better way of connecting it?

Many thanks.

I’m not sure in what way this would bypass your “battery monitor”. Amperage is usually measured on the negative buss using a shunt and voltage is measure off the positive at the panel of the battery. The install done seems good to me.

You are right. I'm not on the boat, but in a photo the shunt is on the negative.
