I am taking a chance, buying a gennaker before I have got my new boat. I then need to trust the measurment in the spec, J beeing 4,2 meter I beeig, 14,1 meter. Have anyone actually made some controll of this measurments?
I have got several offers and they have been from 82 sqm to the one I now have ordered from Fareastsails.com which is 90,6 sqm...
The one I now have ordered and need to approve before it goes into production have the following measurments.
Luff: 14,0 meter
Leech: 12,88 meter
Foot: 7,61 meter
90,6 sqm Edited by bjoris - 20 March 2008 at 00:08 |

Bjoris, also oredered an Genua and Gennaker. based on the luff of the North Jib of 13,5m I've ordered a Genua Contender ACL PEN of 40.7m2 and a (full black) Downwinder Gennaker with a luff of 14,35m, based on the calculated total frontstay length of 14,71m. Don't have the exact sqm. have the data at work.
Ordered them at Supersailstores in the Netherlands, produced in Turkey(next to the North plant?).
Will have a Karver KF1 furler on the Gennaker, so I should be able to handle it singlehanded.
Handover date April 8th....can't wait.....
Regards, Rob

Hi Bjoris The size mentoned looks okay to me for a 350. On the 342 Luff is 13,92 and there's still enough space for the snuffer , Leech 12,00, foot 7,04 and 8,45 over the shoulders if it's a down wind gennaker (aprox 101 m2), but forget the 8,45 if it's a normal reaching gennaker. /Steen Edited by Abstinenz - 20 March 2008 at 15:11 |

Coriolis2: Looks like you have all the sail you need. Insted of a Genoa we have gone for a flatter cut of the Gennaker. It will be very interesting to see how she perform. I hope you will tell us about the differens from the selftacker and your new genoa!
Abstinenz: Thank you, I also belive it is perfectly okey, but I wonder a litle why Wendel & Rados Gennaker is only 82 sqm. This is nearly 9 sqm less the ours... That was the reason I was conserned ours might be to big... Edited by bjoris - 20 March 2008 at 23:11 |

Bjoris, checked it, the Gennaker is estimated at 81/82 sqm.
Will certainly inform everybody on the performance!

I'm planning to buy an Asymetric spinnaker for my (future) H355 just for cruising (no racing... for now).
I have an oppotunity to buy a Momentum All Round Assymetric size 7 (82,6 mē luff : 13,80 m). Will it fit ? I think a size 8 spinnaker with a 14,6 m luff will be too long especially if used with a snuffer. Thanks for your help. |

I'm also interested in a Sailselect Assymetric http://www.sailselect.nl/index.php/en/standard-spinnakers , and I think size may be should be nš7, but I'm not sure?????
Also Coriolis2, I would like to know how is the Gennaker Furler working, are you satified? If I get one, will a standar Assymetric suit the furler? or Should I order a custom made one? If you have photos of the furler and the attachment would be great so I can take ideas how to fit it. Thanks & Regards |

Mine was supposed to be 14,00, but it is 13,86 and I dont think it could have been much longer since I have a snuffer. 14,60 and a snuffer I think would be to long...

Hi, I have the gennaker of 82 m2 on my 350. It fits perfectly. Maybe you could sail a size bigger if you have a gennakerboom because the distance to the top is bigger.

I'm also concider a genuakker - not this year - but later. How do you fastend the bottom the blok in the bow? Is it nessesary with a bowsprit or how to do ? When we will have a genakker, is it only for family salling. What is a good solution : A snuffer or furler ?
