Has anyone had a Bimini made that can be used while sailing the 411? We are concerned that the length of the boom combined with the split backstay may make it rather difficult.

I have a bimini on my 411 normally used when sailing. Not with strong wind. It took a lot to find the right form, but it is posible

Thanks for your reply can you tell me where you had this made or by whom? Does it extend across the cockpit or just over the after steering position?

It isn't an industrial product. It tooks a lot to design the correct form, yust under the boom, but it works perfectly from the steering position to the cockpit. If you give me an email i'll send you a photo.

hi yes we have a 411 hull 098 launched 2003

this year after 2 seasons sailing in Sweden we sailed to the med and had a bimini made which although of course is resticted by the length of the boom does work well  - if you email me on stanhoop@aol.com, when I return to UK (and I am present on board) I will discuss further with you - I am also in discusion with the maker about additional "split" bimini - only for marina use of course from the bimini to the sprayhood!

Regards

Have a look at: http://www.nvequipment.com - they sell biminis for the Hanse range.  We got one for our 370 from them.  It covers the helm position from the boom end back behind the split backstay.  There is a zip-on extra piece that we attach in harbour that exends forward to the hatchway.

Alain & Anne:

Can you tell me how your bimini stows?  Can it fold forward over the dodger or does it fold back toward the stern?   It looks nice and simple and I'm looking for bimini designs for our 400e.

Merci,

Owen.
