Hi all!
I need to fix a smaller leaking on my Hanse 300 and suspect it comes from the direction of the keel. I suspect that the boat has had some earlier repair (it was laminated - i can see on the surface of the bilge) By any chance does anybody have picture about a factory Hanse 300 bilge? I would like to compare with my one before doing any intrusive work. Thanks in advance, Gabor

Hi Gabor,
Are you sure it is salt water? I had a similar situation of a small leak on Hobo slowly filling the bilge that I could not find then after some time searching I realised it was fresh water and was in fact coming from a small leak where the rudder stock comes through the deck. Rain water would dribble into the rear locker (worth checking for water in there) and then would slowly work its way back to the bilge. Some sealant around the fitting on the deck sorted my problem. Hope your problem is equally minor. Sorry I don't have a picture of the bilge and I'm not near my boat. Alan |

Be aware there is a hidden ‘void’ between the inner moulding and the hull, located directly below the floorboard panel in the galley. If you lift those boards you see only the inner moulding and the void space is under that. On many 301s this fills with condensation water over time and it eventually weeps into the bilge which you access via the hatch under the saloon table.
Probably a good idea to rule this out as the source of water you are finding. It can hold a significant volume 7-10 litres! There are various threads here about people carefully drilling s hole through the inner liner to access and drain this space- I had mine done by a professional. If this space hasn’t been accessed and drained recently it could be your problem.
