Anyone know how to remove the forward plexiglass (?) panel that creates the skylight in the forward head on my 430? It’s got a small leak that I’d like to take care of before the fall when the Seattle rain starts.

I recently stepped on that piece of plexi, I fr9nt of the sky light, and it cracked. Will replace the whole panel soon or will glue the Crack and cover with a solar panel. In any case, it looks like the panel has sika around the edges and around the skylight. I'd start cutting and gently prying.

It looks like it might be glued all over….. this is not going to be fun. I think I will source the replacement piece before proceeding….

And is it plexiglass?

For sure.

I plan on heading up to Desolation Sound shortly and returning August 22 - wont be able to get to it until then.

Also, I think (not sure) that the material is Lexan. But I'll confirm what I find.

I have had this problem with the Bathroom as well as both side windows. After 16 years I took all three of and glued them in with Sika. That fix worled well and took about 2-3 h.

Any tricks for removing the windows?

Is the bathroom “skylight“ glued down every where?

My skylight was lose everywhere and I could just get it out by a finger tip. So press inside carefully and probably cut the sika from the top around the sides.

The side windows have been leaking when heeling. That ones got out by one crew pushing inside carefully and the other securing outside that it does not fall into the water. There has been somehow a black thin frame which I missed out when putting the window back. No idea how to solve that.

My skylight plastic-glass was almost loose, but I needed to use a thin wire through the rest of the Sicaflex holding it in place to get it completely loose. Replaced it with a smaller window with teak-trim around.

Nice pics - now I understand what the panel looks like. I ran out of time so maybe it’s a spring repair. Thankfully the leak seems to have stopped.
