After 4 years and some 300 days of use one of our Jabsco electric toilets stopped working. I changed belts before on them a few times but this time the pump seized completely so I had to order a replacement for 450 Eur, ouch! I saved the old pump and later rebuilt it using new matching ceramic/carbid pump seal and 2 water-protected roller-bearing for under 25 Eur total.
What happened is pump seal got clogged up and seized on the pump macerator shaft and started rotating as a whole on a shaft (not on ceramic/carbid pair as it should be doing), slowly eating away rubber seal and eventually letting the water/waste come on top of the bearing that eventually got soaked up and seized. Not sure if there is an easy fix to this design but worth knowing you can rebuild it for a fraction of price of a replacement pump using standard parts. Bearings are type 608 2RS and pump seal is BT-AR type with dimensions shaft D=12, carbid part D=24, carbid part compressed L=8mm, ceramic part D=26mm. Hope this post saves you some money if your pump packs up.

We had two of these toilets onboard and the cost of repairing them is crazy and is required far too often. These toilets are complete rubbish. This winter we are looking at replacing them probably with Sanimarin 31 toilets. That will fix them once and for all- hopefully!

I hope it for you.
We have also these Lite flush toilets for more than 8 years no.
The main problem is when flusching sometimes water flush out of the toilet.
The other problems are: every 3 a 4 years we have to change the small belt inside, not so expensif, and every year complete dismantle and
cleaning the whole system with a strong acid.
I think all brands have this problem in the salty and hot MED waters.

Thank you, really useful.

We have one manual head and one Lite Flush ... it's total crap! 

Replaced first unit with full new unit after loads of problems (bearings, plastic drive cogs, leaks we couldn't locate) ... just out of warranty on second unit button panel failed and now three years in, macerator bearings has seized. This contraption has had more repair/maintenance than any other piece of equipment on the boat!

We replaced our Jabsco Lite Flush toilets with Sanmarin 31 units in late 2018 and have not needed to do anything to them since. We live on board 24/7/365 days a year so these toilets get a lot of use. We plumbed them as fresh water which I think is the best option.

Ah, this thread has come around again!

Since my last comments, we had ripped out this piece of complete cr@p replacing it with a manual toilet. 

Loads of problems with first electric toilet, replaced the whole unit, loads of problems with the second unit ... ripped it out and fitted a plain ole manual. Six year saga of problems over!

Had the Lite flush x2.Nothing but trouble.Parts are not up to the job.Replaced mine with Tecma.Zero issues since. Obviousely routine maintenance is a must.
