Dear all, Which propeller do you suggest? I have a 400e with Yanmar SD50. Thanks in advance for the advices, Raimondo (I used to have a Variprofile VP76, but unfortunately it got lost in the sea.)

In addition to what Kjeld writes
I have the flexofold 17x13 on my 2007 400e. Freshly painted hull with clean prop gives a good 8kts at WOT of 2800 RPM on flat water. 1900 RMP gets 6.5-6.6 kts on flat water The flexofold is 10 years old, some 16000 NM’s (some 1700 motor hours) later, no more play than when it was new, very effective stopping power, strong built, great prop overall. I went for the 13 (vs. 12) pitch with the objective to have slightly lower RPMs, (choice supported by flexofold). Resulting in 2800 WOT RPM’s which is still within Yanmar specification. Like the prop so much, it’s a pity it’s invisible most of the time :-) You can see the size on the stem of the blade without taking the prop off ![]() Edited by Rock - 23 April 2025 at 21:00 |

Lookup Darglow Featherstream. Good value feathering prop. I went from a Kiwi feathering prop to the Featherstream and much prefer it. No difference between the 2 for sailing but the Featherstream gives good drive in steep seas and good ‘brakes’ in reverse.
